Which baby bodysuit size should you choose? A guide from 0 to 18 months
The right baby bodysuit size starts with the child’s age, but the best decision is always based on the specific fit information on the product page. At Lilla Villa, several of our current bodysuit styles are available in sizes from 0 to 18 months: 0-3 months, 4-7 months, 8-12 months, and 12-18 months.
Age is a good starting point, but children grow differently. Therefore, always check that the bodysuit is not tight around the shoulders, legs, or snap fasteners, and that there is comfortable room for movement and a diaper.
As a practical guideline, Mødrehjælpen states that the clothing in their baby starter packages is typically size 50-62 for 0-4 months. This is an example of how the first few months often require small sizes, but always follow the sizing for the individual style and your child’s current fit.

How to tell if the bodysuit is too small
- The snap fasteners at the bottom pull or are difficult to close.
- The fabric is clearly tight across the shoulders, stomach, or thighs.
- The bodysuit becomes too short through the body when the child moves.
- The child seems bothered by edges or seams.
If you are between two sizes, use the product’s fit and your child’s current length as the basis for your decision. It is better to choose a comfortable fit than to choose based on age alone.
